At 93, Ernie "Punch" McLean deserves to see his legacy honoured in bronze.

The legendary coach who led the New Westminster Bruins to four consecutive Memorial Cup finals and mentored over 100 players into the NHL.

From leading the New Westminster Bruins to four consecutive Memorial Cup finals and winning two national championships, to mentoring over 100 players into the NHL, Ernie Punch McLean has been a prominent figure not just in British Columbia, but in the hockey community throughout Canada.
Born during the Great Depression in Estevan, Saskatchewan, the hardships Punch endured forged the character and will that paved the way for his coaching legacy. This strength and character was passed onto his young players. Their grit and determination were a chip off the old block.
The team became a strong family and Ernie was their dad. His wife Fran (RIP) often referred to them as "my boys." The bonds formed then still remain strong to this day.
Even at 93, he makes himself available to anyone who wishes to talk to him or ask about his legendary exploits. From surviving a plane crash to prospecting adventures (even featured in National Geographic), he is a true survivor who continues to contribute to his community.
At 93 years old, we feel it is now our turn to honour him.

Working with them has been a game-changer for me! I came into the coaching process feeling lost and unsure about my career path. Through insightful discussions and tailored strategies, I gained clarity on my goals and developed a concrete plan to achieve them. I now feel empowered and motivated to take action, and I couldn't be happier with the progress I've made!

I never realized how much I was holding myself back until I started coaching with [Your Name]. Their support and encouragement helped me confront my fears and limiting beliefs head-on. The personalized approach made all the difference, allowing me to set realistic goals and achieve them step by step. I highly recommend me to anyone looking to make meaningful changes in their life!

We're a BC Non-Profit Society and have applied for charitable status with the CRA. If approved, we'll issue tax receipts retroactively for all donations. In the meantime, 100% of your donation goes directly to the statue fund.
We're working with the City of New Westminster to secure an appropriate location. Our goal is to place it at or near Queen's Park Arena, where Punch coached the Bruins to their legendary championships.
